Listening to Pst Paul's teaching today, I saw a part of Jacob, that really got my attention. Jacob, Esau's brother was not always straightforward. He conned his brother off his birthright with the help of their mother. But one thing Jacob had going for him was his resilience, his "never give up until something happens" attitude to life. He wrestled with his twin brother in the womb though his brother was stronger than him, he will not let go. He was born holding on to Esau's heel. When he wrestled with the angel of God (Gen 32:24), the same thing happened - he refused to let go until he recieved a blessing. I love Jacob's tenacity, his resilience, his PUSH (pray until something happens) attitude to life.
Do we give up too easily? Has our "microwave" mentality robbed us of part of our inheritance? We live in an age where waiting for anything is one of the most frustrating experiences in our lives. If we are going to obtain the fullness of God's promises to us, we will need to develop some ‘PUSH’ attitude and develop some staying power. Never give up, never give in, never sell out to the enemies tricks because Jesus Christ will come through again
